If you have a passion for Christian music and sharing the Gospel, please look into this. The three positions we are offering are marketing, event planning, and communications. These position descriptions are an overview and can be tailored to the skills and time available of an individual. All persons applying need to have access to a computer with appropriate software for the position and e-mail. Candidates must also be readily accessible by phone. Candidates should be self-motivated and able to keep deadlines. Good communication skills are required.

Communications Intern

  • Needs to be an excellent sales person and writer.

  • Needs to have good people skills, self motivated, able to keep deadlines.

  • Prefer someone who has attended Bash on the Farm and is familiar with the Christian music scene.

  • Should have morally clean My Space & Facebook accounts to be communicating to the bands.

  • Needs e-mail and a computer or complete access to one with a program that can create a newspaper layout compatible with Adobe.

  • Needs to be accessible by phone and must communicate with supervisor on a regular basis.

Job Description: It will be the responsibility of the intern to create the printed event program for Bash on the Farm. The program will be 12 pages long in tabloid format. It consists of ads from sponsors, event information, and band biographies and pictures.
The intern is responsible for contacting the bands we have booked and/or searching their websites for pictures and biography information; then writing and editing biographies. They will also compile event information into the program.
This position is responsible for the ad sales of the program as well as ad design when necessary. This position will create the program in an adobe compatible format ready for the printers. Responsibilities include initial and final proofs from the printer and pick up of the final product. Additionally, this position will supervise the distribution of the programs to area outlets. There will be a deadline that the program will need to be completed by.

Event Planning Internship

Organized, detailed yet able to see the big picture, good communication skills, creative, able to keep deadlines, able to motivate others.

  • Prefer someone who has attended Bash on the Farm and is familiar with the Christian music scene.

  • Needs e-mail and a computer or complete access to one.

  • Needs to be accessible by phone and must communicate with supervisor on a regular basis.

Job Description: Will need to attend volunteer meetings (Once a month Jan.-June), also attend and supervise people at Bash on the Farm. Create a timeline for Bash on the Farm planning, promotions, set up, event, and tear down.
Will be the volunteer coordinator which involves organizing job descriptions and volunteer needs. Fitting volunteers with jobs. Communicating with the volunteers through phone, e-mail and or mail. Communicating to the various supervisors about their need for volunteers in their area. Confirming volunteers the week of the event. Help check in volunteers at the event and direct them to their supervisors. Help fill in vacancies with back up volunteers. There are approximately 100 volunteers during the event. Communicate with and confirm vendors. Organize vendor layout. Direct vendors when they arrive on layout and other logistics.

Other possible tasks : Communicating and confirming with bands (approximately 50) on event details and logistics. Planning and organizing a Children’s area with various children’s activities available throughout the event. Possibly be involved in fundraising.

Marketing Internship

Skills required:

  • Good communication skills, creative, able to keep deadlines and pace self, able to motivate others.

  • An eye for design and ability to design promotional materials and website design.

  • Public speaking and writing ability.

  • Prefer someone who has attended Bash on the Farm and is familiar with the Christian music scene.

  • Needs e-mail and a computer or complete access to one.

  • Needs to be accessible by phone. Will need to be communicating with supervisor and volunteers on a regular basis by phone and e-mail.

Job Description: Will need to attend volunteer meetings (Once a month Jan.-June). Lead a street team of approximately 30 volunteers with creative ideas to get their friends to come to Bash on the Farm. Add creative ideas to our marketing strategy. Do presentations to service clubs and youth groups. Plan and help create a float for the band fest parade advertising Bash on the Farm. Have and keep a promotions timeline.

Other possible tasks: Help create promotional materials such as web site, posters, stickers, and fliers. Update website. Organize and help distribute and post posters and other promotions. Run booths at area events and schools. Produce newspaper press releases and distribute. Produce and distribute TV and radio PSA’s. Organize and send mailings.
